OUR SIGHTS

BOZZHIRA

The tract, famous throughout the world for its "unearthly" landscape and "fangs", which are the hallmark of the Republic of Kazakhstan and are even depicted on the thousandth banknote of our country. One of the most beautiful places in Mangistau, which is often compared to the Monument Valley in Arizona, USA. Bozzhira can be admired from different viewing platforms, enjoying all its grandeur.

KARYNZHARYK

Desert depression, which is part of the territory of the national Ustyurt reserve. The remnant mountains rise above the Kendirli litter and stand as if on a haze of clouds. Karynzharyk is a one-of-a-kind facility where sand and clay are replaced by salt marshes, and visitors to this outlandish nature feel like they are on another planet. And here you can see the most beautiful sunset in Mangistau.

TUZBAIR

Sor Tuzbair is a stunning creation of nature, reminiscent of lunar landscapes. Sor is completely transformed with sunrise and sunset, and during periods of rain it turns into a huge natural mirror in which the sky is reflected. Here, in the slopes and screes, you can find the remains of the fauna of the ancient Tethys Ocean in the form of sea urchins and belemnites, and at night enjoy the most beautiful starry sky.

AIRACTY

When Taras Shevchenko, a writer and artist, visited Airakty with an expedition, he was so impressed by the beauty of this place that he called it the Valley of Castles and painted a series of paintings.

SHERKALA

A lonely standing mountain of an unusual shape - on the one hand it resembles a huge yurt, and on the other - a sleeping lion or sphinx. There are many legends and stories about this mountain. Once upon a time there was a fortress city, carved into the mountain and known since the time of the Arab conquests. It will take at least an hour just to get around Sherkala.

VALLEY OF BALLS (TORYSH)

A whole field of huge stone balls (concretions), up to 4 m in diameter, which have been lying here since the Mesozoic period. Scientists are still hypothesizing about their origin. There are only a few places like this in the world.

KYZYLKUP

As the mountains called "TIRAMISU", multi-colored and flaky like a huge dessert.

YBYKTY SAY

An amazing openwork gorge as if made of white porous chocolate.

TAMSHALY

The tract, which is known for its unusual waterfall, a clear lake with fresh water and a canyon. This place has its own legend - about the beautiful Meret and her courage, who saved the village.

ZHYGYLGAN

A giant hollow, which is also called "fallen earth". As a result of a powerful earthquake in ancient times, a huge landslide formed, which created a sinkhole with a diameter of more than 5 kilometers and a depth of about 80 meters on the coast of the Caspian Sea. By the way, at the bottom of this basin you can find traces of ancient animals and see a lake in the shape of a heart.

ANCIENT NECROPOLIS AND MOSQUES

Underground mosque of the healer BEKET-ATA - for two centuries pilgrims have flocked here to ask for healing and ask for advice. The necropolis and the temple of the sage SHOPAN-ATA is an architectural monument, one of the largest ancient complexes of funeral and religious buildings in Western Kazakhstan. The underground mosque KARAMAN-ATA is covered with secrets and legends that we have to discover and learn.

ANIMAL WORLD

On the territory of the Mangistau region there are more than two hundred species of plants and many species of animals, including those listed in the Red Book. So, in the expanses of Mangistau, you can meet the Ustyurt mouflon, goitered gazelle, caracal, manul, steppe eagle, golden eagle, peregrine falcon, eagle owl and even flamingos.

USEFUL TRIP INFO

Departure and return place is the Aktau city, Republic of Kazakhstan.
If you are in Aktau, just contact me and we will discuss the place of our meeting, from where we will go on a tour.
If you are in another city or country, you need to get to the city of Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan - by train (Mangistau station) or by plane (Aktau airport, which serves local and international flights).

Tours are carried out in comfortable and specially prepared off-road vehicles to visit those incredible places where it is difficult to reach by ordinary car.

Mostly we spend the night in tents, as the tour takes place far from settlements. We have all the necessary tourist equipment and equipment for your comfort - tents, sleeping bags and much more. During the whole tour, three meals a day, drinking water and water for technical needs will be organized for you. We will discuss dietary preferences with you when planning your tour (if any).

Clothing and footwear should be comfortable and appropriate for the hike. Everything else we will discuss with you when planning the tour depending on the time of year, expected weather conditions and the preferred difficulty of the tour. For example, in summer it is recommended to take additional sunscreen, and in winter - thermal underwear.
If there are special medical indications, please notify in advance and bring the necessary medicines with you.
